Composing an email
To compose a new email in your Private.Ki account, click the Compose button:
This opens the compose window where you can address and write your message. The compose screen includes fields for recipients and subject, a message editor, and options for encryption and signing:ccc
You can type one or multiple addresses as recipients:
Private.Ki will suggest contacts from your address book if they match what you type.
By default, you’ll only see the “To” field at first. you can add CC/BCC fields if needed by clicking on CC or BCC:
Below “To”, there is a Subject line where you enter the email’s subject or title.
Message Editor and Formatting
The large text area is where you write the body of your email. Private.Ki’s composer supports rich text formatting – you can write in plain text or use the toolbar to bold or italicize text, create links, or insert bullet points and numbered lists.
Click on the underlined A to open the formatting toolbar:
You can also attach files to your email using the attachment (paperclip) icon on the editor:
Draft messages
As you type your message, the editor will autosave your content periodically (see Draft messages for more on how drafts are saved).
This means you won’t lose your work if you accidentally close the window or navigate away – your unfinished email will be saved in the Drafts folder automatically.
Sending and Undo Send
Once you have added at least one recipient, a subject, and composed your message, you can send the email by clicking the Send button.
After you click Send, your message is sent out. A copy of the sent email will appear in your Sent folder.
If you have Undo Send enabled in your settings, the email won’t leave immediately – instead, Private.Ki will start a short timer (for example, 5 or 10 seconds based on your settings) during which you can cancel the send.
