Undo Send
“Undo Send” is a handy feature that gives you a short window to retract an email you just sent – useful if you realize seconds later that you forgot an attachment or sent to the wrong person.
Here’s how it works at Private.Ki:
When Undo Send is enabled, clicking the Send button doesn’t immediately fire the email off to the recipient. Instead, Private.Ki delays the actual sending for a brief period (a configurable number of seconds). During this delay, you will see an Undo option appear on your screen:
If you take no action, after the delay timer runs out, the email is really sent out to the recipient(s).
However, if you realize something is wrong and click Undo within that time window, the send action is canceled. The email will not be delivered, and instead, the message draft reopens so you can fix whatever you need to (or decide not to send after all). The unsent message will be in the Drafts folder, which will automatically open.
Configuring Undo send
Private.Ki lets you adjust how long that “undo” window lasts.
You can find this setting in your account settings. Go to Settings on your profile:
Look for the Send cancellation period option in General Settings (the first screen):
The cancellation time (for Undo Send) is configurable in 5 second intervals: Just move the slider to the right or left. The new setting will save automatically.
Choose the timeframe that you’re comfortable with. A longer window (like 20-30 seconds) gives you more time to catch mistakes, but it also means every email is delayed that much before sending. A shorter window (5 seconds) means your emails send faster but you’ll need to hit Undo very quickly if you spot an error.
By default, Private.Ki sets a default of 10 seconds for Undo Send.
