Your display name
Your Display Name is the name that appears in the “From” field when you send emails, alongside your email address. For example, an email might show as from “John Doe john@private.ki”. Here, “John Doe” is the display name.
Here’s how to manage your display name in Private.Ki:
By default, when you sign up, you have set a display name:
You can change this at any time. Just go to Settings:
On the first screen, in General settings, you can set your display name:
Simply type the name you want to use. You can enter your real name or any name you want your emails to show as the sender. Private.Ki does not require you to use your real name.
After typing the new display name, the changes are saved automatically.
Once you’ve updated and saved your display name, any future emails you send will use the new name in the From field. This doesn’t change your actual email address or login in any way – it’s purely a cosmetic setting for how your outgoing mail appears to others.
You can update this name as often as you like, but it’s generally set-and-forget unless you have a reason to change your identity or prefer a different sender name.
