Sending encrypted emails (internally)
When you type an email to an internal user (with a @private.ki email address), it's automatically encrypted and signed.
You can see this at the bottom of the editor, the Encrypt and Sign checkboxes are automatically selected:
You cannot delesect Encrypt or Sign. We don't allow to send non-encrypted or non-signed messages within Private.Ki.
As soon as you hit Send, your Private.Ki client (web or app) encrypts the email content using the recipient’s public key with PGP encryption on your device. This includes the body of the email and any attachments.
Also, the metadata of the message is encrypted with AES.
(Before you click Send, your message is saved as a draft and AES-encrypted. After sending, it will move to your Sent folder, which is also AES-encrypted.)
You don’t need to manually exchange PGP keys with Private.Ki users, or do anything else. We handle the complete process of encryption, when communicating with @private.ki users.
