Trash folder
The Trash folder contains emails you have deleted. Moving a message to Trash means you intend to remove it from your mailbox. Messages in Trash are not visible in any other folder, they are essentially out of your Inbox and other folders.
Trash acts as a temporary holding area: the messages aren’t gone permanently until you take further action. This gives you an opportunity to recover emails from Trash if needed, or to permanently remove them when you’re sure you no longer need them.
Restoring messages from Trash
If you deleted an email by mistake or changed your mind, you can restore it from the Trash back to its original folder.
To restore a single message, open the Trash folder and click on the message to view it. Then click the Restore button on that message:
You can also restore multiple emails at once. In the Trash folder’s message list, check the selection box next to each email you want to recover. Once you have selected one or more messages, a toolbar will appear at the top. Click the Restore icon on the toolbar to restore all selected messages in one go:
To restore an entire conversation thread that is in Trash, use the thread options menu. Open any message from that thread in Trash, click the ⋯ menu in the top right corner of the message view, and select Restore thread:
After restoration, you can find the emails in their respective folders as before.
Permanently deleting messages
Trash is meant as a staging area before final deletion. When you’re ready to permanently remove emails in Trash, you have a few options to delete them forever:
In the Trash folder, view the message and click the Trash icon on that message (this icon in Trash means “delete permanently”):
Select several messages in Trash by checking their boxes, then click the Trash icon on the selection toolbar at the top:
To delete delete an entire thread permanently, open the thread in Trash, click the ⋯ menu at the top right of the message, and choose Delete permanently:
When you attempt to permanently delete any message or thread, Private.Ki will ask you to confirm your choice. A confirmation dialog will appear, asking you to confirm the permanent deletion:
Click on Delete to confirm and permanently delete the selected message, thread or messages.
Once confirmed, the email is irreversibly deleted – you cannot recover a permanently deleted message. Use caution when emptying Trash, and be certain you won’t need the messages again.
