Archive folder
The Archive folder is a place to store emails that you want to keep but don’t need to see in your Inbox. Archiving an email moves it out of your Inbox (or other current folder) and into the Archive folder for long-term storage. The message stays in your account and is not marked for deletion. You can open the Archive folder at any time to find and read archived mail, just as you would any other folder.
All messages in archive folder are encrypted with AES.
Archiving messages
There are multiple ways to archive a message or thread:
In the Inbox (or any folder), hover over the email you want to archive and right-click (or Ctrl+Click). In the pop-up menu that appears, click on Archive. The message will be moved to your Archive folder:
Also, when viewing a message or hovering over it in the list, click the Archive button (often shown as a box or folder icon). This one-click action immediately moves the email to Archive:
You can archive several emails at once by selecting them. Check the boxes next to the messages you want to move, then click the Archive icon on the toolbar that appears at the top of the list. All selected emails will be moved to Archive:
To archive a whole conversation, open any message in that thread and click the ⋯ menu at the top right. Choose Archive thread from the dropdown menu. Every message in the thread will then move to the Archive folder:
Once archived, emails will no longer appear in your Inbox or original folder, but you can find them by clicking Archive in the left panel.
Within the Archive folder, messages behave like in any other folder – you can open, read, reply, forward, or even move them again (for example, you could delete an archived email to send it to Trash if you decide you truly don’t need it).
Archiving is reversible by simply moving the email out of Archive: for instance, you can drag it back to Inbox or use any move option, should you need the message back in your active view.
