Deleting messages
Deleting a message in Private.Ki Mail moves it out of your active folders and into the Trash. This is useful for clearing out emails you no longer need in your Inbox or other folders, without permanently losing them right away.
By deleting an email (sending it to Trash), you can always restore it later if needed, or choose to permanently erase it from Trash. This article explains the ways you can delete emails or threads, and how permanent deletion works.
To delete a single email, you can either use the right-click menu or the trash icon:
Hover over the email in the list and right-click (or Ctrl+Click). In the context menu that appears, click Delete. This will move that message to the Trash folder immediately:
Or - when viewing an email, click the Trash icon on that message to delete it. This one-click action sends the email to Trash, just like the menu option:
If you want to delete an entire conversation thread, Private.Ki makes that easy as well. Open one of the messages in the thread, click the ⋯ options menu in the top-right, and select Delete thread:
All messages in that email chain will be moved to the Trash folder at once. This is helpful for cleaning up large conversations – you don’t need to delete each message individually if you decide to remove the whole discussion.
You can also delete multiple individual emails simultaneously:
In your Inbox (or any folder), check the boxes next to the emails you want to delete:
A selection toolbar will appear at the top. On the toolbar, click the Trash icon to delete all the selected messages:
They will be moved to the Trash folder together.
All the methods above result in the emails being placed into your Trash folder. The messages are not gone forever — they are stored in Trash until you decide to permanently delete them or restore them. While in Trash, they won’t clutter your Inbox or other folders.
