Authenticator app on Private.Ki
Private.Ki supports the use of authenticator apps as your second factor for logging in. An authenticator app is typically a smartphone application that generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) which change every 30 seconds, for example Authy (Google Play Store - Apple App Store).
When logged in to Private.Ki, go to Settings - Security and Privacy:
Click Enable TOTP:
We will then display a QR code for you to add to your authenticator app:
Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (or enter the displayed key manually). The app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
Enter that code in Private.Ki and click Verify / Enable. Do it quickly — the code refreshes every few seconds.
That’s it:
Two-factor authentication is now enabled for your account. From now on, you will need the code from your authenticator app each time you log in to Private.Ki.
While we don't recommend to do so, it's also easy to disable 2FA.
