Getting Started with Private.Ki
Getting started with Private.Ki is simple and user-friendly. First, you’ll need to sign up for an account, which can be done with minimal personal information – you don’t even need to use your real name or phone number if you prefer privacy.
After creating an account, you can access Private.Ki through the your web browser or download the mobile app to use it on your device.
The interface will feel familiar if you’ve used email or chat apps before, but with the added confidence that everything is encrypted end-to-end by default.
Once you’re signed in, you’ll find a webmail inbox as well as a messenger section, where both emails and chat conversations are organized. You can compose emails to send to any email address, start secure chats with other Private.Ki users, and even invite external contacts to a private conversation (more on that in Messenger & Chat).
We recommend exploring the Settings to customize your experience – for example, setting your display name, adding an email signature, and adjusting language or time zone preferences to your liking.
Tips for new users: Because Private.Ki is privacy-first, some things work a bit differently than traditional services. For instance, you may set up a special passphrase to lock your account’s encryption (see What is the passphrase? below). We also encourage new users to add a recovery email or note their backup codes in case they forget their credentials.
Finally, don’t hesitate to reach out via our support channels if you have any questions.
Welcome to Private.Ki – we’re excited to have you on board, where privacy is the default!
