Password recovery

Forgetting your password can happen - but because of Private.Ki's strong encryption, recovering access to your account requires some planning.

We don't storeDoes Private.Ki store my password? your password, so we can't reset it for you.

Before You Need It

You can only recover your password if you have set a recovery email address.

Without it, there is no way to recover your password. (That's a feature, not a bug.)

By the way, you can always change your password while being logged in - no need to go through the recovery process.

If you're not logged in and can't remember your password:

On the login screen, click Forgot password? :

Enter your Private.Ki email address and your recovery email address:

Click Submit.

We don't store your recovery email address in plain text, that's why you need to enter it here. (That's a feature, not a bug.)

Check your recovery email inbox for a message with a 6-digit code. It looks like this:

Enter the code on Private.Ki:

Click Verify.

Create your new password and confirm it.

Then click Submit.

Your new password is set:

You can now log in again with your new password on the Private.Ki login page.
